don't know who this is necessarily of interest to, but... my cousin and his wife had their baby this morning. woo-hoo! Jenna is the baby. Jim is the cousin. Tasha is the mom. yet another aries in the seal clan. hoping to get down there in a few weeks to see what a newborn is like. i mean, i've only seen them in movies...
agreed that your original CK site was way way better, L. alas.
so, if you see Becky, tell her that we have a new cousin.

A link for Happy Fingers and his toy piano. And, some, uh, SquiggleBots for Squig's b-day. And some Photoshop fun – Steal Your Face. I made this, seeing as Jonathan conveniently mailed me 2 self-portraits this week.

I apologize for my complete and utter lack of postings...
Anyway, Rodrigo - here's another one*
And a harder one... St. Antonius, also called Anthony, Antonius of Florence.

I will do more research for you tomorrow, when I am not drunk (hey! I've finally discovered happy hour! cheap drinks and appetizers! I even ate fried catfish for the first time and liked it...take that, alura-critics!) (I was Rodrigo's motorcycle bitch today, he left me in SoMa so I could investigate the Feng Shui Lounge with Doug, which we discovered no longer exists...this does not bode well for the power of feng shui, which I think would amuse Emily) and exhausted. But here's one of the things you requested.

Hey there gang, several things:
One, anyone up for finding information about the following:
Anthony of Florence
Independent Savoy Declaration of 1658
Baptist confession of Hanserd Kolly of 1689
Moreover, an easy one: What the hell is original sin? I think it has to do with the fact your parents (not just yours Laura, but everyone's) had sex in order for you to be born! Talk about twisted guilt!!
In addition, why are there never any images of naked chicks on this site?
Also, as interesting aside to "the boot"- not that I care that you use this, but I thought you should know that "boots" used to be a racial slur for blacks

Alura, your site was way better. Way, way, way, way better, better, better. The redesign (more appropriately, 'the de-design,') is one of the most pathetic websites I have ever seen. It manages to be confusing despite the fact that it doesn't communicate anything. Looks like they've been redesigning the band a bit after it eroded, so I guess they needed to change the site to reflect that.

Virtual Nose-Hair Plucking. A better site could not have been designed for me and my hair-yanking obsession. I am utterly thrilled. ;)
Today is Kristin Kay's b-day. Fri is Sly Squiggle's. Sat was Chris's. (note complete and total site redesign...I am utterly bummed to see my creativity erased, amateur though it was) And my bro and the scruffy blonde ram had theirs already too. Arian b-days abound.
A link for the TV-whore. Didn't you like the show Upright Citizens Brigade? Here's audio pranks one of them pulls at home when people misdial his number expecting tech support. Also, haven't been keeping up on the Venezuelan coup*, has anyone else?

Well, I'm now a freelance-whatever-the-hell-pays-more-than-12-bucks-an-hour. That's my current profession. Today I auditioned for a magazine ad, the beginning of my new modelling career; then I walked in off the street and taught an adult literacy class; and then I worked for my wedding photographer. Next week I'm working for Indiana University. After that I'm a wedding photographer for the weekend in Lafayette, Indiana. Meanwhile I'm actually being paid to do the art for the new Gordon bros record. I'll probably be translating Italian in May. Other possibilities include writing a grant proposal for a woman who thinks sewing herbal packets into panties will cure menstrual cramps, doing a website for a fashion designer, and writing movie reviews. I'm also trying to start a business. So, it's open season, there's no logic to this except that I'm trying to do my best TO USE SKILLS I HAVE, rather than to not.
So, any ideas, send them my way. I've suffered in quiet desperation long enough. It's open season, I AM A WHORE as long as it pays more than 12 an hour and it has some shred of dignity. Free lunch is good too.
And, it's been topping off at 90 degrees here in Chicago, so there. I went to the beach yesterday after the end of the workday, so there!
(Kevin, I'm not surprised by what you write of Cincinatti's suburbs. I'm horrified. I've seen it before. If you want to see the inevitable end of the trend, visit BALTIMORE. Better yet, send a delegations of Cincinattians there to see if they like it.)

Your Euro-news for the day: the Dutch gov't has resigned (over the Srebrenica report). Ants have taken the unification of Europe to heart. And the Brits have voted The Smiths as the most important rock band of the past 50 yrs.

the jefferson muzzles were announced this week.
speaking of muzzles, i'm bearded again! (yeah, i know, it happens quickly.) here's to bearded guy solidarity.
and, a quick story: so, i filed my california taxes at 10pm tonight (not a surprise). there were only a few post offices open until midnight. one was in mason, which is "outside the loop" (north of I-275, which circumscribes the "greater cincinnati area"). anyway, it's about six miles north of the northeastern suburb where i work.
last time i was in mason, i was 12 years old. it was nothing but cornfields and tall grass, particularly near the intersection of fields ertel road and montgomery road.
15 years later, mason is more bustling than downtown cincinnati. it was a monday night, for chrissake -- and i'm not referring to the small crowd at the post office. miles of malls, multiple-story buildings, six-lane roads, and intersections where it's difficult to turn left. at 10pm on a monday night.
the repercussions of this are huge. i'm not exaggerating when i say it was cornfields. it's as if bedford, that sleepy little truck-stop town west of bloomington, all of a sudden had its own international airport. how fucked up is that?!? i'm scarred. no wonder the population of cincinnati (the city, not the sprawl) is half what it was in 1950.

Pix from Erica's new digital camera at the party on Sat (it was Chris' b-day, so I found him a representation of Col.K): Agent Allumeuse teaches Clacker to bellydance, One Hot Babe and Two Dorks, and Jonathan and Ben enjoying Alura's caramel cupcakes.
Anyway, for your real link, try the Nonverbal Dictionary of Gestures, Signs, and Body Language Cues. They've even got an entry for boot, Boot. And one for media, dear j-school classmate. And one for dance, glitter-girl.
And, an acoustic link for Zarbet. Or something like that. ;) And, first CA taxed cigarettes, now they want to tax soft drinks and use the money to fight childhood obesity. And, the DICK awards. And, some more questions.

woo-hoo! marta's album is now available for free download (no images yet), and my unfinished sextet album is up as a free stream.
for all y'all bay areans: is barbara lee still getting death threats, or have they subsided? does anyone know of a Barbara Lee Appreciation Society or Honk If You Love Barbara Lee bumper stickers or anything?
further proof from laura that code geeks really want to be gangsta rappers, which is the corollary to herbert kornfeld's theory that accountants ain't no candy-ass temps.
