more accurate quote: "i used to look like jamiroquai." ;)

i used to like jamiroquai, but reading the announcement of their new album on their site made me a touch nauseous:

Jamiroquai have released their eagerly awaited 5th album on Epic Records! Entitled A Funk Odyssey, the album is set to take the 16 million selling act to new heights, confirming Jamiroquai's place in the international superstar big league. Jamiroquai's career album sales place them firmly among the UK's top selling worldwide acts of the last ten years. A Funk Odyssey is the follow up to 1999's 4 million selling Synkronized.

for the fan site, couldn't they at least pretend that's it's not all about the money for them?

criminey...the current state of my brother's legs. Speaking of bro, he sent me this link on the the familial roots of violence, as it pertains to the current situation. (Guy, there's also a Naomi story on there too, about anti-globalization protesting post-WTC. Plus one on that Bert/Bin Laden thing.)

Your science news for the day: possible non-hormone-based, unisex contraceptive in the works! Whoo-hoo! Also, why music gets stuck in your head.

doogie dookie dada deet. more interesting motion design work.

i never knew about the state of jefferson until this morning; there's been a 70-year campaign to turn the border region of northern california and southern oregon into its own state. apparently holly swanson's book, which equates greens to nazis and communists, is very popular up there. (just like termites!)

Nice research, Sir Seal. I have nothing to report. Have some tourist guy photoshop silliness and some entrepreneur news from Indiana. Also, two of yer faves at once: Hitchens goes after Chomsky (he's changing course, you see...and joined the freepers...ah, he must be following where the money is) and Chomsky, uh, no-comments.

Time's report from this past Friday is all diffuse and oblique: based on telephone intercepts and information gleaned from interrogations in Europe. The top paragraph states that this purported evidence can place Atta at the al-Qaida camps in Afghanistan, but then nothing else in the article backs that up. Other unexplained evidence suggests that Atta met with al-Zawahiri.

Will we ever hear these telephone intercepts? I'm guessing that these calls are the same ones referenced in yesterday's Washington Post, which supposedly tie one of bin Laden's aides, Mohammed Atef, to the planning of the attacks.

A few weeks ago, the Post had GW explaining why they're not publishing evidence. But it doesn't seem credible that playing such a call would jeopardize intelligence efforts by revealing their sources or methods; we all accept (or at least acknowledge) that these intelligence organizations can tap phone lines, so what methods could they possibly reveal that we don't already know? Here's a telling sentence from that one: the senior Bush administration official involved in the drafting of the white paper said the government does not have a "smoking gun" that shows bin Laden personally ordered the attacks or definitively links him to the hijackers.

Even if they have calls from Atef, that's not the same as having a call from bin Laden himself. Same with the reports that Shayk Saiid wired money to Atta.

...and, while even highly sensitive intelligence is sometimes shared with such friendly countries as Britain, the official said, many governments may not need much convincing.

Is this their way of suggesting that we as a public shouldn't need much convincing either?

So, boot, I haven't been able to find any evidence.

If anyone can direct me to an article on the internet or elsewhere that specifically addresses what evidence the United States has collected tying Osama bin Laden to the attacks on the WTC, please let me know in this forum or via e-mail. I'm not referring to anything indirect, like so and so who participated in the hijackings is a known associate or whatever. I mean evidence, evidence. Also, if anyone can explain to me how the media can get away with saying that bin Laden "practically admitted" his culpability when if you read the statement he does no such thing, please do so. Thank you.
